Pieter-Dirk Uys, we love you for many reasons, but none for African Times.
There is a play here, but if the actors don’t tell us, how are we supposed to know what’s going on?
Get the actors to project 101, make them move downstage at least once, put in a bit of performance, some theatrics, breathe some fire into this pool of talent.
It’s horrible to see actors mompling, audiences nodding and, in a final insult in to this sacred space, where you have strutted and stridden in all your glory, punters, black and white, walking out.
Please take it away and make it a play.
Or give it to someone else.
